Edward Rice is an investor, computer science expert, and a devoted Democrat. He grew up in a liberal household in Westchester, New York. In his early years, he and his friends distributed campaign materials for Lyndon Johnson. In 1972 he moved to Virginia, married Nancy in 1990, and remains just as politically active.
Mr. Rice attended the graduate school at American University in DC, where he obtained an MSc in Computer Science. Along the way, Mr. Rice worked for the Johns Hopkins University and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, Honeywell Information Systems, CACI, ISC, and as an independent consultant.
Currently, Mr. Rice works as a commercial real estate investor. He was also appointed by Governor Ralph Northam to a four-year term on the Board of Visitors of James Madison University. He is a board member of The Huntervalley Homeowner’s Association, the GMU Conflict Analysis and Research Advisory Board, and President of the Bentana Woods West Homeowner’s Association. He is also member of the Fairfax County Democratic Committee.
