Margaret Gupta is an entrepreneur, social activist, and philanthropist. She is the co-founder of WinDEM, a Federal PAC dedicated to electing Democrats. WinDEM is an extension of the highly successful WinVirginia PAC that she also co-founded and that helped drive the historic 15-seat flip in Virginia’s House of Delegates in 2017. Ms. Gupta has a passion for positive social change and is dedicated to making our democracy work again.
Ms. Gupta is also the Chair of the Board of Directors for Apex CoVantage, a global technology company with over 6,000 staff at its peak, which she co-founded in 1988 and sold in 2021. During her tenure, Ms. Gupta was responsible for growth, profitability and operational excellence. She built a culture of entrepreneurship with integrity, human dignity, and excellence at its core.
Ms. Gupta is the President of the Gupta Family Foundation which supports over 50 organizations around the globe dedicated to helping disadvantaged people become self-reliant. She also serves on the Boards of the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, Center for American Progress, Florida Democratic Party, and is a member of 100 Women Strong. She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio and an MA in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
