Shashi Gupta is the co-founder of WinDEM, a Federal PAC dedicated to electing Democrats. WinDEM is an extension of the highly successful WinVirginia PAC that he also co-founded and that helped drive the historic 15-seat flip in Virginia’s House of Delegates in 2017. Dr. Gupta’s goal is to strengthen our democracy by achieving a balance of power between the two political parties, so that the voices of the voters once again determine elections and drive public policy, and American society returns to a place where civil dialog is the norm.
Dr. Gupta was the CEO of Apex CoVantage, a global technology company with over 6,000 staff at its peak, which he co-founded in 1988 and sold in 2021. During his tenure, he provided strategic direction for the company while also playing a central role in conceptualizing, designing and overseeing the development of numerous trailblazing technologies in diverse markets such as Digital Content creation, Geographic Information Systems, and Smart Metering for utilities.
Driven by a strong sense of social justice and the critical need to promote globally relevant, enduring values, Dr. Gupta established the Gupta Family Foundation (GFF). GFF is a private foundation that supports secular organizations across the globe, which are dedicated to helping disadvantaged people become self-reliant. Dr. Gupta holds an MBA and Ph.D. from Michigan State University.
